The Wisconsin Humane Society is back as our charity for the third year! Written by Fizzy Glitch on October 25, 2023

PVCF23 Charity Announcement

Once again, Ponyville Ciderfest is proud to announce that the Wisconsin Humane Society is our Charity Auction partner for #PVCF23!

It has been an honor and a privilege over the last nine years to work with amazing charity organizations that are doing their part to make the world a better place. We’ve supported children who are facing health struggles, helped to tackle bullying head-on, and worked to make our world a more tolerant and understanding place to be.

For 2023, we’re continuing our partnership with the Wisconsin Humane Society to assist them in finding homes for animals in need of a loving family. Your donations will help them continue to provide assistance with their many programs, from offering affordable spaying and neutering, a pet food bank, their Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and much more. Last year, we helped to raise over $33,000 at our charity auction to help them in their mission, and we can’t wait to see if we can beat that number this year!

A little more about WHS:

Founded in 1879, the Wisconsin Humane Society has been saving the lives of animals in need for more than 140 years. WHS annually serves 40,000 animals. We receive no general government funding and we are not part of any national umbrella organization. As the largest shelter in the state of Wisconsin, WHS offers the following specialized services:

  • A comprehensive adoption program that matches 10,000 homeless animals with new families; there are no time or space limits for any animals in our adoption program. We receive nearly all the area’s surrendered animals, as well as animals from local and state animal control facilities, and animals transferred from other shelters. We are the stray animal holding facility for municipalities in Racine, Brown, Door, Ozaukee, and Kenosha Counties only.
  • Affordable spay/neuter services open to the public at the WHS Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis.
  • A pet food bank to assist families with pets through tough financial times.
  • Youth programs for children designed to teach compassion, respect, and care for animals.
  • Outreach programming to serve families with pets in underserved areas.
  • A foster program for animals in domestic violence situations.
  • Dog training classes for dogs and puppies.
  • A Wildlife Rehabilitation Center that provides rescue, rehabilitation, and release for 5,000 wild animals annually, at our Milwaukee Campus.

We hope that you’ll support WHS at PVCF23, either by donating items for the charity auction or bidding on them! Make sure to register today so you can join in on the fun!
