Bake Off

The Bake Off is back for 2025!

After 6 years, we are very excited to be bringing back one of our charity events: The Apple Charity Bake Off! Think you can bake something that would make Pinkie Pie jealous? Enter for your chance to win fabulous prizes!

To Enter the Bake Off

Bring your apple-based baked good to the Charity Room on Friday from Noon to 7 pm or on Saturday from 10 am until judging starts.

Late entries may not be accepted. The Contest Representative is Eli Sain, and he will help make sure your entry is complete and that we have your contact information.

Winners will be announced after the Saturday morning judging; competitors do not have to be present to win.

Judging

On Saturday morning, our panel of judges will choose the winners! Submissions will be judged on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, in 3 categories: Taste, Presentation, and Creativity / Ciderfest Theme.

The Contest Representative will tally all of the ballots. Each entry will be assigned a total score equal to the sum of all judges’ ratings across all 3 categories, out of a maximum of 120 (based on 4 judges).

The contestant with the highest combined score will be the winner. In the case of an overall tie, the higher combined Taste score will serve as the tiebreaker, followed by the other categories.

Prizes will be announced on the day of the contest. Rules are subject to change.

The Bake Sale

Afterwards, come on by the Charity Room with a few spare bits (cash only, please) to donate so you can enjoy some of the fine foods y’all saw at the Bake Off! All donations and proceeds go directly to our charity, The Wisconsin Humane Society!

Those who wish to donate a baked good but do not wish to compete in the Apple Charity Bake Off are welcome to do so. All Apple Charity Bake Off rules still apply, except for the apple theme; non-competing donors may donate any baked good to be offered during the Bake Sale.

Rules

There is no cost to enter.

Competitors must be amateurs. Professional bakers and chefs (especially members of the Cake family) are not eligible to win but may still donate to the bake sale.

Contestants may submit more than one entry, but can only win one (1) prize.

Submissions must be home-cooked (not store-bought!!!).

Types of desserts that may be entered include Cakes, Muffins, Cookies, Brownies, Pies, and Candies/confections.

Please do not submit anything that requires refrigeration. Air-tight containers are recommended so your submission stays fresh until judging; your empty container will be returned to you.

All submissions will be considered donations to and property of Ponyville Ciderfest.

When submitting, the entrant must complete an entry form that details all ingredients used in the submission. We don’t want anyone with allergies to get a nasty surprise! You may save yourself some writing by providing a pre-printed list of ingredients to attach to the form.

Contestants may work individually or with a whole team of ponies.

Good luck to all Bake Sale contestants!
