Andy Price, the lead artist on IDW’s My Little Pony comics, is joining us as a Guest of Honor for PVCF26!

If you have read the IDW run, you know his pages. Andy drew The Return of Queen Chrysalis and Nightmare Rarity, the two arcs plenty of us still hand to friends who ask where to start. He has worked alongside writer Katie Cook since the very first issue, he wrote and drew the final installment of Friends Forever, and when he is not in Equestria, he is off drawing Star Trek, superheroes, and the occasional genuinely upsetting monster.

He is also the reason nopony can get through one of his pages in under five minutes. The backgrounds are stuffed with hidden gags, cameos, and ponies who have absolutely no business being there. We assume he will hide something in the Vendor Hall and tell nopony where. 🔍

Andy is a True Source of Inspiration

Our thirteenth year is the Festival of Art, a whole weekend built around the fanart creators who keep this fandom as colorful as it is. Andy isn’t one of our featured fandom artists this year, but he may be the reason some of them picked up a pencil or stylus in the first place. Ask around the Vendor Hall this November and see how many artists point to one of Andy’s pieces as the moment they originally thought, “I want to draw like that.” A lot of the style running through this fandom’s art traces straight back to his pages.

Andy last joined us at PVCF19, and having the source material back in the room for a year built around the art it inspired feels like the right kind of full circle. ✨
